Humidor Cuban cigar humidor

A smooth, creamy smoke, dominated by savoury flavour: grass, wood, leather. Slightly iffy draw on a couple I've tried. Pleasant though underwhelming.

This is an extremely mild cigar. The example I smoked had a few years' box age as well, presumably making it all the milder. It was not without flavour – some notes of wood, nut, and fruit – however these were easily lost to the flavour of the cup of coffee I had with it. Probably best to stick to a glass of water! But it was nonetheless a smooth and satisfying smoke: a breakfast cigar.

At first, this seemed to be a rather powerful cigar. However it soon settled down into something far more subtle and balanced. There is a touch of fruit and sweetness to the dominant wood and leather flavours. A dark, salty, flavour develops as the cigar passes the halfway point. Not my personal taste, but interesting, and quite pleasant.

Such an unusual Cuban cigar. Dark, oily, heavily-veined wrapper. Rather mild earthy and woody smell unlit. But get it going, and it's a revelation: opening with notes of coffee, chocolate, and even that elusive 'fruit' taste. An ongoing flavour of nuts and cream. Combine with a strong cup of coffee, and you get a distinctive treacle and liquorice taste. Mild to medium bodied, it doesn't really develop as it progresses (that'll be the short-filler tobacco – watch out for crumbling ash); but it doesn't have to. It's very good as it is.

Fantastic. Thick, rich, liquid smoke, and gallons of it. Not overpowering, but a deep, woody, salty flavour, and smooth and creamy smoke.

In a way, a slightly unremarkable cigar; reserved, mild, uncomplicated. It's typical Hoyo understatement. Supremely well made like most of the Le Hoyo series. Generous quantities of smoke, and a light and never overbearing flavour of cream, nuts, and just the slightest hint of wood and spice.
