Classic Churchill
Verified purchase

Length: 17.78Diameter: 1.91 Fabrication Totalmente a mano (mediumfiller)TAF

Rocky Patel Seed to Smoke Classic Churchill An exceptionally enjoyable morning cigar that pairs beautifully with coffee. The profile is bright, refreshing, and smooth, making it an ideal first cigar of the day. Construction is excellent. The cigar has a nicely rolled, medium-firm pack that provides just the right amount of resistance. The draw is effortless without being loose, requiring very little effort to smoke—one of the reasons it complements a morning coffee so well. The burn is consistently even, with no tunneling or crooked burn, making for a relaxed, trouble-free smoking experience. Smoke production is moderate, enough to satisfy without overwhelming the palate. The flavor opens with a creamy character accompanied by subtle banana-like sweetness. As the cigar progresses, it gradually develops brighter, more vibrant flavors, culminating in pronounced citrus notes during the final third. Despite the increasing intensity, the cigar never becomes bitter or harsh, and there is absolutely no tongue bite. The smoke remains remarkably smooth from beginning to end. Nicotine strength is mild for most of the smoke, only becoming noticeable in the final third. Even then, it remains balanced, allowing the cigar to be comfortably smoked right down to the nub. Compared with the Quorum Maduro, the Seed to Smoke Classic is a clear step up in quality. Construction is superior, the draw is more consistent, the burn is straighter, and the overall smoking experience is significantly more refined. Overall, this is an outstanding Churchill and one of my favorite morning cigars. Bright, clean, flavorful, and exceptionally easy to smoke, it delivers a refined experience at a price that represents excellent value for money. Postscript All cigars reviewed in this journal have been aged in my temperature-controlled humidor for a minimum of six months at 19°C (66°F) and 70% relative humidity. Before smoking, they are transferred to a separate humidor maintained at room temperature and 65% relative humidity, where they rest for approximately two weeks. This acclimatization period allows the cigars to gradually reach smoking temperature and encourages the aromatic oils to express themselves more fully, resulting in a more balanced and representative smoking experience. Unless otherwise noted, every review reflects a cigar prepared using this aging and acclimatization process.

Ibis Honduran Selection Corona (Longfiller)
Verified purchase

Length: 15.24Diameter: 1.51 Fabrication Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

Ibis Honduras Corona A dependable everyday cigar with a richer, Maduro-like flavor profile than its price would suggest. Medium-bodied with medium nicotine strength. The burn is generally good and straight, although it occasionally requires a touch-up. Smoke production is moderate. The flavor is characterized by notes of cocoa and roasted nuts, giving it a pleasant richness without becoming overpowering. It is better suited to mid-morning, lunchtime, or after lunch than as a first cigar of the day. It pairs very well with red wine. I do not recommend pairing it with whiskey or bourbon, as those spirits tend to bring out an unpleasant bitterness in the cigar, leaving a bitter finish on the palate. The Corona format makes it an easy, uncomplicated smoke that doesn't demand constant attention. It's a cigar I often enjoy while working in the office, as it burns predictably and allows me to focus on other things. Among the Maduro cigars I keep on hand, this is one of my regular go-to daily smokes. Its combination of modest size, approachable Maduro character, ease of smoking, and outstanding value for money makes it one of the best everyday choices in my Maduro rotation.
