A pleasant every day smoke. Very similar to Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 2 as to flavor profile. Nutty, woody and leathery upon first lighting, which progress into a more creamy and salty combo before the second third. Definitely the best part was between the first and second third. As it gets closer to the nub, smoke gives less and less flavors but with a pleasant saltiness all the way. Good classic cuban cigar!

This is a cigar with possible ups and downs. When on its best it gives abundant of taste to play with. Very earthy, creamy and tastes like cocoa, smoked beans and a hint of saltiness as a necessery ingredient to boost other flavors. Its good from the start and excellent after the first third but towards the end the heat and moist slightly distroys the fragile nyanses that gives this cigar its character. But at its worst this can be a tight, hard to draw cigar that is hard to keep alive. Sometimes the wrapper start to unfold, keeping you busy to maintain a steady and even burn. And no matter what I do it just is sometimes too tight and is better just to thraw it away and lit a new one. Consistence is something to wish for but a ideal stick can be a lot of fun! Lot of similarities to Montecristo no.5

Great everyday cigar for a affordable price. Well rolled, with a nice even burn but with slightly tight draw, which is almost not worthy mentioning. Flavor wise this cigar packs a lot more than I was expecting for which immediately made this my one favorite casual cigar to smoke. Lots of pepper and earthiness with subtle notes of rye, toast bread and pinch of salt, just to make the flavor flow. For a smoking time less than a hour, and turning a bit too hot and nicotine towards the end, it is good to leave it some where at the beginning of the first third. Your call but not smoking all the way to the nub left me with a pleasant after taste for a while. I should try the robusto sizes if they can match better towards the end. But for this prize. No Complaints.

I founded Don Pepins Blue serie a very one sided and specially its robusto sized Invictos. Charming to look at but from the ones I had it either had a bit tight draw or a bad burn. One did had both faults. Flavor wise it did not match its looks and gave a very narrow taste profile. Mostly pepper and woody and a lot of it. Some might enjoy such a simple forward approach but I prefer more balancing aromas and tastes to harmonize the pure power of the pepper. A hint of creaminess, cocoa or coffee would had given this a more satisfying smoke but as it is, I stopped smoking it during the last third once I was convinced that it would not change at all towards the end. Basically smoking the first third pretty much sums the entire cigar. Not much and a bit less. Smoked few of them just to make sure and gave the rest away at any occasion suitable. Very disappointing.

A decent robusto that needs no special occasion to fire up. A very all round average performer. Slightly too tight draw down graded this cigar a lot for me, since the flavors are already very subtle and can not take many physical misfortunes in the making. Small hints of cocoa, nuts and creamy espresso were found when concentrating enough but better just enjoy it as it is a good every day cigar. Leave the other flavor stuff observing to cigars with more character.

Starts with a overwhelming black peppery KO. Slightly unbalance with its earthy taste of fresh green leaf and sand, but mellowing nicely into a more woody bukkeh towards the end. Still, the feeling of promises not fulfilled lingers a while after finishing this little stick. Thou, not a bad cigar at all.

This is a beautiful cigar with excellent burn and draw. A very affordable individual, but sadly lacking a refined combination of flavors. It definitely has great potential but is very single toned, due to its overpowering peppery note, that crudely over runs other delicate flavors, that this cigar possesses. But for the price it is still worth trying ( perhaps in bigger size) and maybe leave it age for a year or so. Maybe. Lets see....

An evenly burning with an excellent draw. That's the best things about this cigar. It starts with an overwhelmingly strong peppery and spicy load overpowering all other taste. It soon mellows down introducing a more balanced taste with a hint of cocoa, coffee, wood and clay. Towards the last third the taste becomes more narrow excluding more and more taste until you're stuck with just a smokey peppery cigar. And before the beginning of the last third it begans to evolve an unpleasent amount of bitterness. Before that happens it's better to lay down the cigar to rest unless you want to spoill the few good thing about your smoking experience. At it's price range an average-- at its best.

Had a few of these and after lighting the first one a small concern crept in to my mind; is this all? But giving it a second chance I let these stoogies rest in my humidor for almost a year before I lit another one. My concern got its answer. Do not bother buying this cigar!!! Even a year rest in my humidor did absolutely nothing or very little. If these were half the prize I would say: Go ahead, have a try. But with this price tag there\'s a LOT MORE BETTER ones to go for.
