Slyrs Bavarian Single Malt Whisky

Once, a master distiller named Florian Stetter, based in Schliersee in Upper Bavaria, set out to create a Bavarian malt whisky. This unique mountain region, surrounded by lakes and fresh, clear air, provided the ideal setting. With creativity and expertise — and certainly a generous dose of adventurous spirit — Stetter eventually succeeded after several failed attempts. In 1999, he produced his first outstanding distillate.

The ingredients of Slyrs Bavarian Single Malt Whisky are barley malt and clear mountain spring water from the Bannwall spring at the foot of the Alps. The fine spirit was initially matured in new 225-liter American white oak casks. The wood alone gives the whisky its distinctive color.

Over time, the range from Slyrs has steadily expanded. Today, the whisky is offered from various casks, such as former port wine or rum barrels. The Bavarians have even distilled rye, once the national drink of the USA. But it’s not only spirit enthusiasts who get their money’s worth: in Schliersee, they also know a thing or two about liqueurs. In addition to the delicious Bairish Coffee Liqueur, there is even egg liqueur with Slyrs whisky — so grandma’s coffee gathering is well taken care of.

Whisky lovers should pay special attention to the 12-year-old. Mild yet fresh and fruity, with notes of malt and vanilla, it’s a drink for true connoisseurs. Also available as a special edition in particularly elegant packaging, perfect for gifting or stylish enjoyment.
