Hiram & Solomon Entered Apprentice

Behind the cigars from Hiram & Solomon is an idea that is truly rare in the cigar world: a brand created specifically for Freemasons and those interested in Freemasonry. A portion of the proceeds is donated to charitable projects within the Masonic community. Hiram & Solomon was founded by Ed Kashouty, George Dakrat, and Harry Rockefella, united by their passion for cigars and their vision of combining them with Masonic values such as freedom, brotherhood, and tolerance. In the early days, the three founders were supported by David Blanco of Blanco Zigarren. David initiated and supervised the original production at Plasencia Zigarren, as his own Blanco Zigarren are also rolled there. Today, Fouad "Ed" Kashouty and his wife Romy are the sole owners, leading this remarkable cigar brand to new successes together with their production partner PDR Zigarren, owned by Abraham "Abe" Flores in the Dominican Republic.

Hiram & Solomon Cigars: The Spirit of Freemasonry in Tobacco Form

The Entered Apprentice cigars provide the gentle introduction to the range. Featuring a light Honduran Connecticut wrapper and, quite unusually, a matching binder, along with a remarkably rare filler blend of Nicaraguan Ometepe, Pennsylvania tobacco, and tobacco from Paraguay, they deliver a mild, silky smoking experience with delicate sweet undertones. Notes of cinnamon and pepper complete the flavor profile. An ideal choice for beginners, while experienced aficionados will also appreciate it as a relaxing companion to start the day or whenever something gentler is called for.

Tabacalera PDR Cigars: Hiram & Solomon's New Production Home

Since the summer of 2023, all lines have been produced by Abe Flores at Tabacalera PDR Zigarren in Tamboril, Dominican Republic. Although the blends are said to have remained unchanged, noticeable differences can be tasted, making it worthwhile to evaluate the original and the new production separately. We are proud to have been the first importer of these cigars to Germany back in 2016 and to have initially been able to offer them exclusively to our customers. Personally, I preferred the original Nicaraguan versions, but since production moved to the Dominican Republic, these cigars have been selling significantly better. As the saying goes, taste is always a matter of personal preference.
