Hiram & Solomon Entered Apprentice

Behind the cigars from Hiram & Solomon lies an idea that is rare in the cigar world: a brand that deliberately targets Freemasons and those interested in Freemasonry. A portion of the proceeds is donated to charitable projects within the Masonic community. Hiram & Solomon was founded by Ed Kashouty, George Dakrat, and Harry Rockefella – united by their passion for cigars and the idea of connecting them with Masonic values such as freedom, brotherhood, and tolerance. In the early days, the trio was supported by David Blanco of Blanco Cigars. David initiated and supervised the original production at Plasencia Cigars, as his own Blanco Cigars were also rolled there. Today, Fouad "Ed" Kashouty and his wife Romy are the sole owners and are guiding this exciting brand to new successes, together with production partner PDR Cigars by Abraham "Abe" Flores in the Dominican Republic.

Hiram & Solomon Cigars: Masonic Spirit in Tobacco Form

The Entered Apprentice cigars are the gentle introduction to the lineup. With a light Connecticut wrapper from Honduras and, interestingly, an equally rare binder of the same origin, plus an exceptionally rare filler blend made from Nicaraguan Ometepe, U.S. Pennsylvania, and tobacco from Paraguay, this is a mild, silky cigar with subtle sweet undertones. Cinnamon and pepper notes round off the flavor profile. Ideal for newcomers – but even seasoned aficionados will appreciate this relaxed companion for starting the day or simply when something gentler is in order!

Tabacalera PDR Cigars: New Production Site for Hiram & Solomon

Since summer 2023, all lines have been produced by Abe Flores at Tabacalera PDR Cigars in Tamboril, Dominican Republic. Although the blend is said to have remained the same, there are noticeable differences in taste – reason enough to evaluate the original and the new version separately! We are proud to have been the first to import these cigars to Germany back in 2016 and to have offered them exclusively to our customers at the time. Personally, I preferred the original Nicaraguan versions, but since the move to the Dominican Republic, these cigars have been selling significantly better – as they say, there’s no accounting for taste!
