Caoba Cigars: From Insider Tip to International Delight
Santo Domingo, the vibrant capital of the Dominican Republic, is far more than just a popular travel destination. As the oldest European-founded city in the Americas – established by Christopher Columbus’ brother himself – it is a true cultural gem. The historic old town, characterized by impressive colonial-era architecture, is rightly designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Story of Caoba
Amidst this unique setting lies the Tabacalera of Caoba. For a long time, the brand was a local insider tip: its cigars were almost exclusively sold to locals and the numerous tourists visiting the Dominican Republic.
One of its few international fans was American Adam Zuber. He was so impressed with the cigars that he presented the brand at the IPCPR trade show in 2019. Since 2021, connoisseurs in Germany have also been able to enjoy the exquisite Caoba cigars.
Two Lines, One Passion: Caoba Cigars
Currently, Caoba Cigars offers two lines. The classic series features carefully selected Dominican tobacco wrapped in a Mexican San Andrés wrapper.
The second line, Diamante, also uses this premium wrapper but offers a distinctly bolder character – as the name suggests.
