Heimatzigarren: Cigars from Germany
The "Ländle" is home to a wealth of products of outstanding quality. However, most people think of Daimler and all the mechanical engineers, hardly anyone thinks of tobacco. Of course, there are also a whole range of other industries, from picturesque vineyards to the ultra-modern SAP. But cigars are certainly not what one typically associates with quality goods made in Germany.
The Badische Geudertheimer
This assumption is proven wrong by the Heimatzigarre. The cigars from Germany are an expression of a centuries-old tradition; since the 18th century, the "Badische Geudertheimer" has been cultivated in the Ländle, a tobacco variety that originally comes from Alsace. In neighboring Baden, it was once grown on a large scale, as it is very well adapted to the climate in southwestern Germany. Additionally, it produces dark tobacco varieties, which are particularly suitable for cigar production.
Heimat Cigar: Geudertheimer Aroma
The plant can be harvested as early as summer, first the filler and about 20 to 30 days later the wrapper leaves. It is very important not to miss the desired ripeness of the leaves. The tobacco is then dried and fermented like all other tobacco varieties. This process creates the typical Geudertheimer aroma.
Exquisite Handwork
The Heimatzigarre is traditionally hand-rolled. After that, it is not yet finished, but spends another 24 hours in a cigar press. Only then does it receive a wrapper and its elegant band. The Heimatzigarre is not simply delivered in a box, but each piece is individually placed in a test tube, sealed with a cork. A noble and above all sustainable appearance. The cigar certainly does its homeland proud. Probably the people of Baden-Württemberg can really do everything except speak standard German, even cigars.
