Italian Pipe Craftsmanship with a Personal Signature

Branko Sesa, originally from Croatia and now based in Turin, came to pipe making by a roundabout route. After working as a professor of philosophy, he began crafting his own pipes in 2000 and further developed his skills under the guidance of Italian pipe maker Mauro Gilli. His style was decisively shaped by the restoration of thousands of pipes, through which he developed a deep understanding of construction and detail. Today, he combines Italian craftsmanship tradition with a clearly recognizable, independent design language and regularly presents his work at international pipe shows.

From Classic to Freehand: The Variety of Sesa Pipes

Classic shapes such as Bent or Billiard now dominate the range and often showcase particularly fine grain in the briar wood. The series is complemented by maritime designs made from Morta, whose powerful lines evoke the shapes of boats. For lovers of exceptional pieces, Freehand pipes with organic structures or sculptural character continue to be created. Different finishes – from smooth to rusticated to sandblasted pipes – as well as mouthpieces made of acrylic or ebonite ensure variety and make each pipe a distinctive companion for discerning connoisseurs.

We met him at the Stuttgart Pipe Show 2026 and are delighted to now be able to offer his pipes.
