SH Freehands

We had the pleasure of meeting Sebastian Heck, who sells his pipes under the label ‘SH Pfeifen’, at the Stuttgart Pipe Fair 2025. The likeable man was there together with his wife, and they showed an impressive portfolio of his work.

Sebastian Heck is a priest by profession in ‘real life’. For him, making pipes is an important source of relaxation and a contrast to everyday life. He takes his profession seriously, but also his part-time job, and does both with dedication and passion.

Like many, he came to pipe making through his passion for smoking pipes. One day he tried his hand at refurbishing some heirlooms, and before he knew it, a pipe-making workshop had been set up.

Sebastian Heck's pipes are characterised by their precise construction and Danish style. 9mm filter pipes can also be found in his workshop, but not exclusively.
