Dunhill Pipes Dress

The Dunhill Dress finish is probably one of the most elegant surface variants in the pipe world. The smooth black surface with the silky sheen undoubtedly has its charms.

Since 1979 these pipes have been offered under the name "Dunhill Dress". The Black Briars since 1973.

Black Briars differ from the dress in that they use other applications than the 6mm silver ribbon. Conversely, of course, this means that without exception all Dress-Pipes have a 6mm silver ribbon.

The finish itself is not that easy to produce because, unlike other manufacturers, Dunhill does not use any lacquers and varnishes. In order to still create the deep black complexion, the pipe has to be sanded and stained again and again.

This is very much in favor of smoking behavior, because without varnish, a pipe can better "breath". In addition, the grain increasingly appears over the years.
