Heibe Pipes

Heibe was once a well-known German pipe manufacturer from Bergneustadt in the Oberbergischer Kreis and also a paper filter producer. The company mainly produced pipes for the mass market, especially during times when tobacco was scarce and expensive. Back then, shag pipes were among the most popular pipe models in Germany. They were lightweight, small, and had a tobacco chamber suitable for a brief smoke. Millions of these pipes were produced.

Heibe: Pipes Made from Walnut and Briar

It is unclear exactly when the Heibe pipes were manufactured, but their design, packaging, and overall appearance suggest the 1940s to 1950s. Markus Fohr (Old German Clay Pipes) acquired them when the factory was liquidated.

The Prince model features the Heibe logo and is made from walnut wood, with a sturdy acrylic mouthpiece. The lower Bullcap models, as was common at the time, are stamped with a “Bruyère Garantie” and feature a mouthpiece made of nylon and horn. If you want to experience the kind of pipes your father or grandfather might have smoked, you should try a Heibe!

Heibe Pipes: Historical, but with Minor Quality Variations

Special Note: Please understand that there may be variations in the color of the pipe bowl and the mouthpiece. Mouthpieces may also have slightly different bends and might be delivered with or without a decorative ring. Some pipes, despite being identical models, show differences in dimensions or come with non-removable mouthpieces. Surface textures can also vary, and some pipes may feature partial rustication.

These pipes do not meet modern quality standards. Slightly uneven mouthpieces or slightly off-center drillings are not defects but rather reflect their historical character as unique pieces.
