Vauen pipe cleaners

The renowned Vauen company from Nuremberg in Germany is not only well-known for its numerous pipe series, but also for its pipe accessories. The activated carbon filter has certainly been the best-selling pipe filter in Germany for decades. In addition, the Franconian company also offers pipe cleaners and other accessories for the discerning pipe connoisseur.

The three variants offered differ greatly. The most common and universally applicable is certainly the conical pipe cleaner with the number 504. With its cotton brushes, it cleans all types of pipes. While the 503 is stiffer and more torsion-resistant due to the thicker wire, the lack of brushes makes it more of a pipe cleaner that's better at sucking up liquids than loosening stubborn dirt. The 504 is more similar to the equally well-known Blitz pipe cleaner, which is available in red and white.

The longer 50427 is especially intended for pipes with a very long mouthpiece or stem. Churchwarden pipes are the classic application example here.
