Sisu - what is it?

Sisuman is a relatively new company that has its origins in Finland. The name is derived from the Finnish term "Sisu", which is difficult to translate into English. The term has great cultural significance for Finland and can be interpreted as "tenacity, intransigence and fighting spirit". Sisu is described as a mental characteristic that is typically Finnish.

The name says it all

After the explanation of the term, it becomes clear why Sisuman products are primarily focussed on robustness and durability. That is exactly what it should be, as indestructible as possible. However, should the material give way, either a replacement is provided or the product is designed to be easy to repair.

Sustainability

Sisuman aims to minimise its own footprint on the environment. This is realised above all through the durability of the products. However, the company also aims to realise this goal in the choice of materials and the long-term availability of spare parts. Sisuman is one of the few manufacturers to offer reasonably priced repair kits for its lighters.

Price-performance ratio

Many products and parts are manufactured directly in the area around Turku - the company headquarters in Finland. In order to keep costs low and to be able to produce large quantities, some products or components are also manufactured in China. This ensures that we can supply products that meet extremely high quality requirements but are still very affordable.

Product range

Initially, the range consisted of cigar accessories and a wonderfully handy cigar lighter. But then something happened that was only made possible by today's social media networking. Another customer group became aware of the products - the pipe smokers! The response from this sector was very high, so that the product range was and is slowly being extended to this sector.
