Kilchoman Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Kilchoman is an exceptionally young distillery - it was first established in 2005. Accordingly, the contents are also very young: the whisky has only had five years to mature. It does so in former bourbon barrels, 80 percent of which are first-fill barrels, meaning they are used for Scotch for the first time. Their unused richness of flavors promotes rapid maturation.

The distillery is located in the far west of the island, not far from the Atlantic coast. And the fresh sea breeze leaves traces in the glass. As expected from a young whisky, it comes across as bold and inspiring. Otherwise, its youth is hardly noticeable. It has a complex flavor, possessing the typical Islay peat notes without going overboard. Kilchoman is a Scotch that should be remembered. If the 5-year-old is already so well-rounded, the distillery may still surprise us with further delights.
