Dunhill Pipes Pipe Tobacco: Discontinued in 2018

In the summer of 2018, the brand owner decided to stop selling tobacco products under this label in the future. As a result, the beloved and highly popular Dunhill pipe tobaccos (and cigars, by the way!) were, quite incredibly, removed from the market. However, the renowned pipe tobacco manufacturer and importer Kopp from Rellingen near Hamburg immediately provided a replacement. Under the brand name Robert McConnell Heritage, very similar or almost identical blends were created and offered to pipe smokers in a very short time.

On each product detail page, we have included a direct link to the corresponding tobacco at the top of the detailed text – this should allow all lovers of the "old" Dunhill blends to find their "new" beloved favorite tobacco!

The brand owner aims for the following: The name Dunhill not only stands for the finest craftsmanship in pipe manufacturing but also for premium pipe tobaccos of a special kind. Over the years, the master blenders at Dunhill have created an entire collection of exquisite pipe tobaccos. These mostly rather spicy, medium to strong tobacco blends are especially appreciated by experienced pipe smokers and fans of classic English tobaccos.

For the production of its pipe tobacco blends, Dunhill exclusively uses tobaccos from the best-growing regions. Blends of excellent Virginia or Louisiana tobaccos, as well as Perique tobaccos, are used for Dunhill’s pipe tobacco blends. Additionally, tobaccos with oriental characteristics, like Turkish Orient, or slightly sweet-tasting Cavendish tobaccos, are included. However, pipe smokers who prefer strongly flavored varieties will not find what they are looking for here.

Both in the design of their elaborately and authentically crafted pipe accessories and in the composition of their tobacco mixtures, Dunhill takes great care and time. From cultivation through harvesting to maturation and fermentation, and, if necessary, pressing, the tobaccos used are subject to the strictest controls. The method of production plays a significant role in shaping the flavor. After producing the various tobacco types, the moment of craftsmanship comes again. To create a masterful blend, it is not only about selecting exquisite ingredients but, above all, their perfect mixing to compose a world-class pipe tobacco.

Dunhill also takes the necessary time to select the best combinations for future tobacco blends from the various blueprints. Numerous tastings are conducted to reassess and further refine the blends until they finally receive their name.

In addition to the exquisite Dunhill tobacco compositions, the brand's product portfolio also includes more classic mixtures and a select range of flake tobaccos.
