Per G. Jensen Legacy Collection
Per Georg Jensen was once the owner of a Danish pipe tobacco manufactory and later spent decades as master blender at Mac Baren. Whether the HH flakes or Amphora Virginia, many blends clearly “bear his signature.”
At the latest since the acquisition of Mac Baren by STG, Per has “set out for new shores,” which resulted in a collaboration with the American manufacturer Cornell & Diehl and the Per G. Jensen Legacy Collection.
His tobacco line symbolizes the legacy of his father, who was also a pipe smoker, and highlights various aspects of Danish tobacco culture.
Frankly speaking, we were surprised how well the collaboration with Jeremy Reeves of C&D worked out, because the blends carry a thoroughly Danish signature despite their American origin. The somewhat “robust” character of Cornell & Diehl has given way to a certain elegance.
In particular, the Virginia flakes are likely to delight pipe smokers.
