International
Werner Mummert's pipes have been a household name internationally for years. It is almost used as a synonym for "German Pipe Design". In Germany itself, however, he is hardly known, and his pipes are mainly sold in the USA and Asia.
His own Signature
In doing so, he has developed a very clear, individual signature, which is based on the one hand on extraordinary shaping, but on unusually precise processing. Its remarkable processing quality can be traced back to its high level of craftsmanship, but also to its modern machine and tool park.
Deep relief and applications
His sandblasting, which he does in his own workshop, is unusually deep and clearly shows the individual grain of the wood in each pipe. The finishes vary from light gold tones to extraordinary contrast effects and elaborate paintwork.
When it comes to decoration, he uses natural materials as well as everyday things that you might not even expect to find on pipes. You certainly don't see the clip cap of a beer bottle as a shank end on a pipe.
The mouthpieces
The mouthpieces are made of ebonite - often made of interesting marbled Cumberland material, which he makes from one piece on the lathe. This means that it is not actually possible to break the tenons in his pipes. With and without filter bore.
We are pleased to have this "original" from a pipe maker in our portfolio and would like to recommend his individual pipes to you.
