Worobiec Pipes

At home in south-eastern Poland

Do you know Przemysl? The town with about 65,000 inhabitants in the Carpathian foothills voivodeship, in the extreme south-east of Poland on the San River? No? Then it's about time, because the little town is something like the "Saint-Claude of Eastern Europe" with several active pipe and smoking accessories manufacturers in the place. One of the largest pipe manufacturers in the world is also located there.

In business since 1954

Well, the small factory of Henryk and Matys Worobiec is certainly not one of the largest manufacturers. The two-man business (father and son) is even quite small and manageable. But what leaves the workshop as a final product does not need to hide behind "big" names. The company, which was founded by Pawel's grandfather, has been in existence since 1954. Even in socialist times, the company was always privately owned. At that time, the company had a few employees and made pipes mainly from pear wood.

Working with Briar from the 80’s

Only since the beginning of the 1980s has briar also been imported from Albania. A precious commodity at that time! Henryk has been running the business since 1979, and he is now gradually handing over the reins to Matys. Matys is in his mid-30s and very well connected to the Polish pipe smoking community. He regularly takes part in pipe fairs as well as the popular slow smoking competitions.
