Oliva Serie V Cigarillos

The Oliva family, like many others in the cigar industry, has Cuban roots. The family patriarch, Gilberto Sr. Oliva, left his homeland in 1966 to find a comparable and fertile land where he could grow flavorful tobacco for his cigars. He established his plantations in countries such as Honduras, Mexico, and the Philippines. However, in 1994, he finally decided to open a factory in Nicaragua, which is still managed by his son, Gilberto Jr. Oliva.

Since the late 1990s, they have become one of the largest family-owned companies in the cigar industry. They solidified an excellent reputation with the mild-creamy Oliva Serie O Classic and later with the bolder Oliva Serie V. Even the sale of the brand, Tabacalera, and the plantations to the Belgian family company VCF in 2016 did not change that. The new owner, the Vandermarliere family, has invested intensively in additional plantations, drying sheds, and even a completely new additional cigar factory in recent years. The success story of Oliva cigars is undoubtedly continuing.

The Oliva Serie V Blend Cigarillos presented here are rolled with an Ecuadorian wrapper, an Indonesian binder, and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, Brazil, and Indonesia. The blend used offers a comparable flavor spectrum to the "full-sized" cigars of the same series, but can be enjoyed in a shorter time. Notes of roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate nicely complement the quite intense spice. These three formats are not for beginners but are aimed at experienced cigar smokers looking for a small "flavor kick" in between.
