Black Tie Vintage Edition

The Black Tie Gesellschaft is a network built up over decades of pleasure‑oriented gentlemen who have loosely joined together in various clubs to celebrate life. One of the founders and initiators is, for example, Guy Robert, who in the early 90s organized one or another wine tasting with his “Club de Degustation Hamburgo”, as well as Fritz Ley, who ran the Abtei Hotel in Hamburg with the Michelin‑starred restaurant “Prinz Frederik”. Today, the two gentlemen Karsten Unterberger and Jörn Fechner are those driving the network forward.

Cigars of the Highest Class: Discover the World of the Black Tie Gesellschaft

The common thread at all these gatherings of good friends is the shared passion for special moments of enjoyment. This is also how the “Havanna Lounge Club” network came about in the mid‑90s from this circle of friends. At that time the network numbered around 7,000 members who came together in Hamburg, Berlin, Bremen, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Zurich, Vienna and on Sylt. Within this nonetheless somewhat anonymous large group, a club within the club quickly developed — establishing a legendary circle of friends of about 450 today who remained loyal to each other for many years and form the foundation for all Black Tie shareholders and friends.

Enjoyable Moments with Black Tie Cigars: A Tradition of Exclusivity

Out of the heart of the Black Tie Gesellschaft over time grew products that formed the basis for shared enjoyment at the gatherings. In addition to the Black Tie Rum and the Black Tie Tea, there are now also Black Tie cigars from Costa Rica that had to satisfy the discerning palates of the members. The three blends developed through extensive tasting rounds leave nothing to be desired. All three formats are made with Costa Rican tobaccos in the filler and an Ecuadorian binder; the wrapper is a dark Maduro, also from Ecuador.

The carefully selected tobaccos enable a smooth yet full‑bodied smoke, with a sweet, “fat”, creamy character that is typical of many Costa Rican cigars. The price is certainly positioned a bit more exclusive, but the smoky moments are also noticeably more interesting than average.
