Factory Overrun Costa Rica

We started the Factory Overrun concept at the end of 2014. By now, with these cigars presented here from Costa Rica, we have four countries from which we purchase special lots and offer them at very affordable prices.

Why these cigars are so affordable

All of these cigars come from high-quality "regular" series that were either intended as special editions for other countries and/or tobacco retailers, or as private labels for clubs, dealer associations, or similar purposes and were ultimately not fully utilized. In short, the Tabacalera produced them and now needs "cash" to purchase raw materials for the production of the standard portfolio. That's where we come in! In a negative light, one could say that we take advantage of the producers' "emergency" situation, but positively put, it sounds like this: at these prices, you won't find nearly as high-quality long-filler cigars from Costa Rica anywhere else!

Information about the producer and the cigars

Currently, all the Overruns presented here come from Tabacalera Vegas Santiago, led by Swiss-born Marc Niehaus. He used to be a teacher in Switzerland and then followed his father to Costa Rica to work in the cigar production. All vitolas are made with an Ecuadorian wrapper, partly as Connecticut (Conerico), partly as Oscuro (dark), or as media (medium color). The binder also comes from Ecuador. The filler blends are somewhat mixed; it is worth noting that some of them are blended with tobacco from Costa Rica or Peru. These combinations are rather unusual and promise interesting flavor experiences.
