Baron Ullmann Cigars
The question that naturally arises first here is the connection between the Ullmann family and the cigar industry. The member of the noble family who has a great passion for cigars and their enjoyment is Georg Baron von Ullmann. The Baron is the son of a native Ms. Oppenheim, who in turn married Baron von Ullmann Senior. Through Georg Baron von Ullmann's connection to the Cologne-based private bank Sal. Oppenheim, it is easy to understand how our fellow tobacco retailer Peter Heinrichs from Cologne initially came to import and distribute these cigars in Germany.
Baron von Ullmann Cigars: An Exclusive Connection Between Nobility and Tobacco Enjoyment
But first, let’s take a step back: Baron von Ullmann originally wanted to have a high-quality cigar blended according to his own taste, purely as a private passion project. To achieve this, he traveled to the Dominican Republic with his business partner Francisco Diaz Suarez, where, in the course of further work on their project, the two eventually purchased a cigar manufactory.
(Probably) a few glasses of rum and a few cigars later, the two decided that these magnificent cigars should also be made available to a wider circle of aficionados—and that perhaps a euro or two could be earned in the process. Since it had already worked out for Ullmann in equestrian sports, why not also with an Ullmann cigar brand?
Hand-Rolled Masterpieces: The Ullmann Cigar Collection
The blend of these high-quality, entirely hand-rolled longfillers offers a broad, complex smoking experience at the highest level. The wrapper comes from Cameroon, while the binder and filler tobaccos originate from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The finished cigars are then aged for four years, ensuring that aficionados receive nothing but the very best. In the meantime, Kohlhase & Kopp handled distribution; currently, it is the importer Darier & Cleef from Hamburg who is responsible for this.
