Bugatti Monte Carlo
The Monte Carlo Cigars from the house of Bugatti Cigars are the latest addition to the product portfolio and originate from the renowned Tabacalera KBF. This abbreviation stands for Kelner Boutique Factory, which is led by Hendrik Kelner Jr., the son of Grand Seigneur Henke Kelner, who produced Davidoff cigars for decades. The father eventually sold his tabacalera to Davidoff, after which the son opened his own small and very refined manufactory, Tabacalera KBF.
Monte Carlo by Bugatti: A Homage to Craftsmanship and Elegance
He now produces such “hot” brands as Principle Cigars, his own Smoking Jacket, as well as Bespoke cigars. Yigal Harel, the owner of Bugatti Cigars, has also drawn on Hendrik’s excellent services and had a cigar line blended by him. It has turned out exceptionally well! In the end, we were also able to add our “two cents” and confirmed Yigal in his decision for this blend. The wrapper is a sun-grown tobacco from the Dominican Republic. The binder is a Dominican Criollo, while the filler blend consists of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos. The Bugatti Robusto Especial Gold has a stronger blend than the “regular” one; it is Yigal Harel’s house blend, which he had made for himself by Hendrik. It is said to be modeled after a very well-known brand, or rather the Nicaraguan series of that brand from the Dominican Republic.
Bugatti Monte Carlo Cigars: The Exclusive Creation of Tabacalera KBF
The result is a very balanced and multi-faceted blend with pronounced floral-herbal notes and slightly cedary wood tones. In a blind tasting, many would probably guess a cigar from the Davidoff house – and in essence, that is indeed the case! Overall rather mild and not overwhelming; these two vitolas smoke very pleasantly and “refined” – give them a try! Due to Hendrik’s great success and his habit of not being able to say “no,” supply shortages unfortunately occur with many of the brands he produces. This has led KBF to raise prices significantly; we have therefore decided to no longer offer this blend, as the cigars would have become around 50% more expensive.
