Casa Magna Liga F

The cigars from Casa Magna have had an eventful past. The brand is owned by the Quesada family, who have been producing cigars in the Dominican Republic for decades. The Quesadas, too, left their home island of Cuba for political reasons and opened their own tobacco factory in 1974. In this factory, MATASA in Santiago, both their own cigars and other well-known brands have been rolled ever since. In addition to the cigars produced in the Dominican Republic, the Quesadas also have cigars made in Nicaragua by distant relatives from the Plasencia family. Today, there is a very extensive portfolio of Quesada cigars.

Casa Magna Liga F: A Symphony of Strength and Aroma

Casa Magna cigars have been produced since 2008. The Robusto format of the Casa Magna Colorado series was named the best cigar of the year 2008 by the cigar magazine Cigar Aficionado, which led to an enormous increase in its popularity. The perfect rating combined with the price meant that these cigars were sold out several times and were very difficult to obtain. Due to personal differences between the importer and a member of the Quesada family, it unfortunately disappeared from the German market for several years. In 2019, we began importing these products ourselves and apparently did so quite successfully, as since 2021 the importer Wolfertz has been responsible again, or since 2022 its buyer VCF (Vandermarliere Cigar Family).

The History and Strength of Casa Magna Cigars

The name Casa Magna is simply the name of a hotel where Manolo Quesada once stayed. The name stuck with him and thus became the namesake for this cigar brand. The Casa Magna Liga F cigars described here—roughly meaning Blend F—were introduced in 2021. The F in the name stands, quite simply, for Fuerte—meaning strong. As a wrapper, Manolo chose an Ecuador Sun Grown Corojo, with a Dominican binder underneath and a filler blend from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Even in the cold draw, it hints at its power. At the latest after lighting, a peppery firework unfolds. As the smoke progresses, it becomes noticeably calmer and more refined, with earthy and leathery notes now dominating. The pepper reappears from time to time but remains intriguing thanks to the integration of milky cocoa notes and herbal nuances.
