El Credito Serie R
With impressive diameters ranging from 20.6 to 23.8 mm, the large format ensures that the full aroma of the El Credito Serie R is redefined and unfolds. This evolution of the "regular" El Credito offers the perfect composition of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos in the filler, a binder from Nicaragua, and a carefully aged Ecuadorian wrapper.
These powerful cigars burn slowly and cooler; they develop exquisite flavors and an incredible richness of nuances. Since their introduction in 2004, the flavor-rich Serie "R" has impressed aficionados, including those who favor Habanos, with the exceptional quality from the Dominican Republic.
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, whose family has been making cigars since 1907 and emigrated from Cuba to Florida after the Cuban Revolution, initiated these cigars in the USA in 1968. There, they were introduced under the name "La Gloria Cubana" (the family brought the trademark rights from Cuba), but they had to be renamed for the European market. They found their way as El Credito.
In 1999, Ernesto Junior sold his company to General Cigar but continued to oversee the production of his cigars for several more years. Now, he has exited that partnership as well and is dedicating himself to new solo projects with his two children in their joint venture, EPC Cigars.
