Flor de D'Crossier Seleccion 512 Maduro

Isaias Santana is the owner of this cigar brand, founded in 2007, which used to be produced in Costa Rica. However, for various reasons, production was moved to ABAM Cigars in the Dominican Republic in 2014. The Tabacalera under the leadership of the Cuban exile Matias Maragoto is not as well-known in Germany (yet), but it manufactures many renowned and high-quality products for the German market. For example, the Villiger 1888 and the new Villiger Flor de Ynclan are rolled there.

The brand owner, Isaias Santana Diaz, was inspired to make cigars by his great-grandfather Francisco Crossier. He lived in France (family name Crossier!) and ended up in Cuba on a detour while searching for new grapevines. There, he discovered his love for tobacco and decided to stay on the largest Caribbean island. Isaias was born in 1973 and is a native Cuban. He is now a US citizen and operates his business from Miami. This variant was introduced in 2017 and is full-bodied and rather robust. The wrapper is a Mexican San Andres, the binder is a Dominican Piloto. The filler blend is a hearty mixture of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos. The packaging is exceptional! The long-fillers are packed in metal tins of 20 each, lined with a cedarwood sheet on the inside. Before being packed and shipped, the finished cigars have been aged for at least a year. According to the manufacturer, further aging (or "aging" in modern terms) in the tin for an additional 1-2 years is highly recommended – give it a try!
