Jose Benito Classic

Like many other traditional cigar manufacturers, the Benito family originally came from Spain. From there, they emigrated to Cuba in the mid-18th century and started as raw tobacco traders. At one time, they were the largest tobacco traders in the export sector. Without waiting for the revolution, the family then moved to the island of Hispaniola, specifically to the Dominican Republic, in the 1940s.
Here, they entered the actual cigar production and continue to produce a Dominican cigar that bears the family name in Santiago de los Caballeros. These are consistently very mild cigars that offer an excellent price-performance ratio and are especially recommended for beginners. Our special recommendation goes to the Rothschild, a classic representative of this format that is round and smooth, suitable for any time of the day.
Even before the cigar boom, José Benito cigars were among the first Dominican cigars available nationwide and were one of our best-selling brands in our former tobacco specialty stores in downtown Düsseldorf in the late 1990s. Since then, the brand has become quieter, without any qualitative reasons or similar. The true flood of new releases pushed into the market with marketing force and a lot of buzz in recent years has also affected the market share of José Benito. Just try them - smoke a true classic!
In the autumn of 2019, four "new" formats were added, offered in newly designed 20-count boxes.
