Santa Damiana Vintage Maduro

This series is an extension of the classic, yellow Santa Damiana. The dark, almost black Maduros have been a popular trend for years and have a steadily growing following. Maduro means "matured" in Spanish, referring to the particularly long period of fermentation and aging. The very dark color of this wrapper leaf is achieved through a deliberately long natural fermentation process.

For this process, a silky, dark, and rich Broadleaf wrapper from the Connecticut Valley is used, which has been "sun-grown," meaning it was cultivated in the sun rather than under cloths. These leaves have a slightly thicker leaf structure, making them particularly well-suited for this extended aging. During this process, the sweetness characteristic of this Maduro wrapper develops.

The binder for the Santa Damiana Vintage Maduro comes from Ecuador, and the "heart," the filler, consists of Nicaraguan, Peruvian, and Dominican long-filler tobaccos. As a result, this cigar offers a full-bodied, complex smoking experience with sweet notes and a uniquely rich flavor.

The beautiful, black lacquered 10-count boxes have a particularly elegant silver print. This series was deliberately designed as a small packaging unit. Since the beginning of 2015, the boxes are gradually being converted to 20-count packaging units. We assume that this is done for cost reasons - with 20 cigars per box, the cost per cigar is lower, and it doesn't significantly affect the retail price!
