Cavalier Genève Domaine Rouge
With the Cavalier Genève Domaine Rouge – The New Classic line, the Swiss company expands its Inner Circle world with a series that unites tradition, emotion, and craftsmanship. The Inner Circle Domaine Rouge is aimed at connoisseurs who appreciate characterful cigars from Honduras with depth—and who seek not only flavor but also origin and meaning. The “red” Domaine Rouge cigars are slightly stronger than the very popular “blue” original Inner Circle cigars by Cavalier, yet they always remain balanced. For me and some of my colleagues, the blue line was the discovery of the past few months. It always sounds a bit “hollow,” but the Inner Circle cigars tasted distinctly “oily rich” and hearty—without being strong. Harmonious, aromatic, and completely free of sharpness or pepperiness – definitely worth trying.
Domaine Rouge – Inspiration from Tradition and Memory
First presented at the 2023 PCA trade show, Domaine Rouge is a logical evolution of the original Inner Circle line, which launched in 2022. The name refers to the striking red factory in Honduras where these cigars are made—a place of special emotional significance for founder and owner Sébastien Decoppet. The series is dedicated to his father Pascal, who passed away in 2021, and carries a deeply personal story. Their shared passion for cigars and wine lives on in the design of the boxes: a wine château behind a tobacco field symbolizes connection and origin, while the subtle reference to Pascal’s birth year, 1956, evokes the family’s roots.
Blend and Character of Cavalier Domaine Rouge Cigars
Crafted in Honduras, the Domaine Rouge presents a well-balanced, clearly defined blend. A Viso wrapper from Jamastran meets a Connecticut binder, while the filler tobaccos come from Nicaraguan Jalapa, Honduran Jamastran, and one variety from Paraguay. The result is a medium to full-bodied cigar with earthy and spicy base notes, accompanied by subtle creaminess and a refined depth. Domaine Rouge cigars are recommended for seasoned aficionados looking to combine classic cigar profiles with emotional storytelling and artisanal precision. Here you can find all cigars from Cavalier Genève, distributed since the mid-2020s by the long-established importer Kopp Tobaccos.
