Montes Serie N Honduras

The Montes Serie N from Honduras combines modern Central American tobacco blends with a deliberately balanced interplay of flavors. These handmade longfillers are aimed at aficionados seeking medium-bodied Honduras cigars with depth and a linear progression, without being overwhelmed by excessive strength. The international composition is particularly intriguing: the filler comes from Honduras and Nicaragua, wrapped in a Sumatra binder from Ecuador and a Mexican San Andrés wrapper. The result is a smoking experience defined by creamy, earthy, and subtly spicy notes that become denser and more complex as it progresses. In Germany, the Montes cigars are distributed by Jordi Llorens Carrio and the Geschwister Kleinlagel from Obergrombach near Bruchsal.

Montes Cigars: Spanish Roots and Honduran Production

The brand is owned by the Spanish brothers Ivan and Israel Montes from Barcelona. The Montes family has been active in the cigar business since the 1990s and is particularly well known in Spain as a distributor and importer of international premium cigars. Among other things, they have been involved in distributing renowned brands such as Rocky Patel cigars. Today, the series is produced iby Plasencia in Danlí, Honduras, a region with a long tradition of crafting high-quality premium cigars. The names of the individual vitolas (sizes) are inspired by famous lakes and bodies of water, reflecting the series’ international orientation. These variants are stronger and more intense than the Dominican Montes Serie N cigars.

Montes Serie N Honduras: Creamy Spice and Layered Aromas

The slim Baikal starts off rather dry and elegant. The manufacturer describes its flavor profile as follows: notes of cocoa, cedarwood, and a touch of peppery spice, followed in the second third by sweet nuances of dried fruit and cream. The Victoria in the Robusto format appears somewhat fuller while remaining harmonious. This was the sample I tested while writing this text and it was genuinely enjoyable from the very start. Rich, juicy aromas of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and a subtle hint of salt were noticeable. As I prefer, there were no pepper notes present. According to the manufacturer, the Ness, thanks to its large ring gauge, offers the creamiest development of the series, delivering dense smoke with notes of wood, nuts, and earth, although I have not tried it myself. Overall, the Montes Serie N Honduras are pleasantly balanced, cleanly crafted, and aromatically diverse – a series for connoisseurs looking to explore medium-bodied cigars from Honduras.
