The Cuban cigars by Trinidad often remain in the shadows due to their exclusivity. Positioned just below Cohiba in the brand hierarchy, they are priced at a similar level. However, over recent decades, the portfolio has undergone significant changes.
Trinidad Cigars: Expensive and Extraordinary
The classic formats Robusto Extra and Robusto T by Trinidad have been discontinued. Instead, in 2019, three new vitolas—Esmeralda, Media Luna, and Topes—were introduced. Trinidad has also released limited Ediciones Limitadas; interestingly, however, there has yet to be an Edición Regional for the brand, as it seems that Trinidad and Cohiba are not “permitted” to have one.
Aged Cuban Cigars: Vintage and Añejados
In 2019, the first Añejado by this brand was introduced, marking the sixth edition of this relatively new concept from the Cubans. This concept first appeared in 2015 with two vitolas: the Romeo y Julieta Pirámide and the Montecristo Churchill. In 2016, the Partagás Coronas Gordas and Hoyo de Monterrey Hermosos No. 4 were added. A fifth edition, the H. Upmann Robusto, joined in 2017. However, the Trinidad Fundadores breaks with the “tradition” by choosing a “regular” vitola already available for sale as an Añejado.
