San Cristobal de La Habana Cigars

San Cristóbal de La Habana is one of Cuba's youngest cigar brands. Introduced in 1999, it has become increasingly popular. The cigars are rich in flavors, ranging from mild to medium-bodied.
San Cristobal de La Habana Cigars: Recommendations
For those new to the brand, we recommend trying the La Fuerza, a Gordito with a 50 ring gauge and 141mm length. It impresses from the beginning with its creaminess, coupled with spicy, earthy, and lightly chocolatey flavors. It is not overpowering, and due to its mildness and excellent construction, it provides an enjoyable smoke at any time.
Its larger sister, the El Morro, a Paco with 180mm length and 49 ring gauge, delivers an even longer smoking pleasure. Equally creamy and mild, with rich flavors, it was something for special occasions; unfortunately, it was discontinued in 2012.
For fans of torpedo-shaped cigars, the La Punta is the right choice, a classic Pyramid with a 52 ring gauge and 140mm length. And when time is of the essence, the brand offers the El Principe, a small but fine Minuto-format with 110mm length and a ring gauge of 42.
Since 2006, three additional formats of San Cristóbal de La Habana were produced exclusively for the Casas del Habano, but production was discontinued in 2011. The Mercaderes, a Grand Corona with a 48 ring gauge and 167mm length, and the Oficios, a Corona variation with a 43 ring gauge and 135mm length. Both showcase the creaminess and flavor variety of the brand very convincingly.
Interesting facts about the San Cristobal de La Habana brand
Habanos S.A. officially introduced the brand on November 20, 1999. San Cristóbal de La Habana was named after Havana's original name, the capital of Cuba (San Cristóbal in honor of Christopher Columbus and La Habana after the name of the Native American chief "Habaguanex").
The four formats in the standard portfolio are named after powerful fortresses that protected the entrance to Havana's harbor and the Santiago de Cuba bay in the early years of the island from pirate attacks and similar threats.
The cigars are manufactured at the renowned "Fabrica de Tabacos Habanera Miguel Fernández Roig," also known as "La Corona." Felix Jimenez, the master torcedor (cigar roller) of this factory, has created the mild to medium-bodied tobacco blend.
