CSC Fire Oak

This cigar brand is the German offshoot of a Cigar Company from Los Angeles, California, whose name was slightly modified for the German market and is now called Cigar Seed Company. The founder is the American Laith Haddad, who can look back on a family tradition of more than 70 years in the cigar industry. Today, he runs a shop in LA and imports his cigars from Nicaragua.

Cigar Seed Company: German Cigar Brand with Roots in Los Angeles

The German branch is located in Pforzheim and is managed by Michael Sprick. He imported the cigars from Nicaragua to Germany and now operates not only the lounge in Pforzheim but also the cigar import and distribution for this brand. According to his own statement, the cigars are aged for at least seven years after rolling, which represents a significant extension compared to the procedure commonly used in the industry. All vitolas are rolled in small lots, so-called batches, of a maximum of 5,000 pieces. For the cigars of this line, parts of the tobaccos used are fermented in charred whiskey oak barrels. This gives them their characteristic roasted aromas with nuances of wood and chocolate.

Seven Years of Aging: Nicaraguan Cigars with a Special Aging Process

We were unable to coax further details from him about the individual tobaccos used or the producing tabacalera. Perhaps one or another aficionado visiting the Pforzheim lounge will have better luck and obtain more details. We would be very grateful for that! In the meantime, there is also a second series from him that does not carry the “Fire Oak” designation in its name and is significantly less expensive. This makes these CSC cigars a more affordable entry into the brand.
