Don Zuarin Cigars are the in-house brand of our fellow retailer Steffen Brinkmann from Schwerin. He owns the well-known Tobaccohouse Brinkmann there. The first line was developed in 2022 in collaboration with Nicaraguan cigar maker Kurt Brandt. Since then, Brinkmann has added more lines, including the Don Zuarin Claro featured here. These are made by a different manufacturer. We’re not sure if we’re allowed to mention the factory – so we’d rather not! ;-)

Steffen Brinkmann from Schwerin: The Mind Behind the Don Zuarin Brand

The name “Zuarin” goes back to the Slavic origin of Schwerin and means “place of animals.” Brinkmann’s passion for tobacco was sparked by his father, who was a production manager at VEB Unitas in the former GDR. This laid the foundation for a now well-established brand that blends regional roots with international ambition. In addition to cigars, Steffen Brinkmann is also highly successful and knowledgeable in the field of matching spirits. That’s why there’s a range of Don Zuarin Rums available for tasting.
