A.J. Fernandez: Bestseller
A.J. Fernandez: All items
The success story of Tabacalera Fernandez began humbly: with only six torcedores initially crafting cigars for other brands. Today, A.J. Fernandez cigars represent the pinnacle of craftsmanship and are among the best cigars from Nicaragua. This quality also convinced Didier Houvenaghel, who has his premium lines Nicarao and La Ley produced at Fernandez’s factory.
A.J. Fernandez Cigars – Perfection and Tradition
A.J. Fernandez comes from a family with three generations of experience in tobacco cultivation. This knowledge, accumulated over years, is evident in every one of his cigars. A significant milestone was his collaboration with his father, Ismael Fernandez, who brought years of experience from Plasencia to enrich the factory.
Alejandro Robaina – one of Cuba’s most famous tobacco growers – also played a key role in A.J. Fernandez’s success. Robaina’s craftsmanship and exquisite longfillers were highly valued by Fidel Castro. It’s no surprise that A.J. Fernandez cigars are now considered among the best. His torcedores work according to time-honored and closely guarded Cuban traditions – a quality that’s evident in every puff.
Cuban Heritage and Craftsmanship
What sets A.J. Fernandez cigars apart is that their tobacco is sourced exclusively from self-managed fields. The selection process is conducted entirely by hand, ensuring each blend meets the high expectations of passionate aficionados worldwide. It’s no wonder that the Fernandez house consistently garners top ratings from the press, such as for the San Lotano H or the San Lotano Oval, both available at Cigarworld.de.
Flavor Experiences for Every Moment
A.J. Fernandez cigars are available under various labels, but they all share a distinctively full and robust flavor. Common notes include wood, nut, and leather, complemented by a subtle sweetness. The consistently high quality reflects the meticulous processing techniques demanded by A.J. Fernandez. Thanks to his dedication and passion for tobacco, the exiled Cuban has elevated Nicaraguan cigars to some of the finest in the world.
All Premium Cigars by A.J. Fernandez
Longfillers of this quality are always a treat. Pairing them with a glass of fine Scotch or Port wine transforms the experience into a feast for the senses. Smoking an A.J. Fernandez cigar, whether it’s a Robusto, Toro, or Gordo format, is truly memorable. Guaranteed!
A Rich Variety
In recent years, A.J. Fernandez has become a prominent figure in the cigar business, releasing a wide range of series. New World is a project between father and son, Ismael and A.J. Fernandez. As mentioned, the family is deeply rooted in the tobacco industry, so why not tap into the expertise of his father? These Nicaraguan puros feature large ring gauges and dark wrappers.
New World – A Father and Son Collaboration
The New World Connecticut offers a lighter yet rich smoke, thanks to its bright wrapper. This cigar combines premium tobaccos from four countries. The New World Puro Especial – as the name suggests – is crafted exclusively from tobaccos grown on A.J.’s own fields in Nicaragua. Some formats are exclusively available in Germany. The creamy New World Cameroon features a Cameroon wrapper, marking A.J.’s first experiment with this leaf. We can confirm it’s a success!
The New World Dorado is the latest highlight in A.J. Fernandez’s New World series. Named after a golden-hued tobacco plantation near Estelí, Nicaragua, most of its tobaccos are aged for an extended period of 5–6 years. Flavor notes include earthy and peppery tones, complemented by surprising creaminess and balance.
San Lotano
The name San Lotano, inspired by a now-destroyed curing barn, frequently appears in A.J. Fernandez’s portfolio. Among the notable lines are the San Lotano Maduro, featuring a San Andres wrapper with a filler blend from Nicaragua and Honduras, characterized by chocolate notes and subtle sweetness. In contrast, the San Lotano Requiem Connecticut is milder but equally rich in flavor.
Enclave and Dias de Gloria
Enclave is another father-son collaboration and an international affair: the wrapper comes from Ecuador, the binder from Cameroon, and the filler is locally grown. A.J. also experimented with a Enclave Connecticut Broadleaf from the USA. Its sun-grown wrapper delivers a mild smoke with fruity notes. The third cigar in this line, the Enclave Connecticut, features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, with the rest sourced from A.J.’s fields.
Dias de Gloria are Nicaraguan puros intended to honor A.J.’s family’s Cuban heritage.
Bellas Artes and Last Call
A visit to an art museum inspired A.J. to create Bellas Artes. These medium-bodied cigars deliver notes of hay and spice, with hints of citrus. The Bellas Artes Maduro features a Brazilian wrapper, offering a slightly chocolatey smoke.
The Last Call is a short and bold smoke that A.J., according to legend, serves to his guests. Football enthusiasts invited to watch the last quarter of a game at his place often enjoy this cigar. It’s also available as The Last Call Maduro, featuring a dark Nicaraguan wrapper.
Blend 15 by A.J. Fernandez
Behind the somewhat technical name Blend 15 lies A.J.’s first bundle cigar series. Without the expense and resources of elaborate packaging, it showcases the brand’s outstanding longfiller quality at an incredibly affordable price!
Did we write “rich variety”? That’s an understatement. For those looking to explore the A.J. universe, there’s always the Sampler...
