Buena Vista Cigars: A Touch of Brazil and the Dominican Republic
The manufacturer Arnold André, a traditional company based in Bünde, Germany, produces its own brand Buena Vista in its in-house Tabacalera in the Dominican Republic. The brand's blenders demonstrate remarkable innovation.
The name Araperique might sound familiar to many. It is actually a portmanteau of Arapiraca and Perique—a combination of Brazil's fine tobacco and the spice that lends many pipe tobaccos their unique character.

But what does that mean exactly? Does this cigar contain pipe tobacco? Not quite. The Arapiraca tobacco has been treated in an unconventional way, similar to the method used for Perique. It is moistened and then pressed under high pressure in former whiskey barrels. This meticulous process can take over a year to complete the fermentation. Araperique is characterized by its bold, aromatic filler tobacco with a fruity note.
Cigars with Character: Dark Fired Kentucky and Araperique
For the Dark Fired Kentucky, the tobacco undergoes a special drying process over smoldering hickory and oak wood. This imparts a deeply smoky flavor, giving the series’ five formats their remarkable roasted aromas. Torn between Dark Fired Kentucky and Araperique? Both are available in a sampler that includes one Toro from each line.

Both series, Araperique and Dark Fired Kentucky, are also available as shortfillers. These smaller formats are perfect for a quick break.
