CO Pipes from Hamm: Rising to an International Brand
Kelvin Pohler and Thorsten "Toto" Klemme, the minds behind CO, have become well-known names among pipe smokers in Germany and beyond. They have made a name for themselves through nothing less than hard work and years of dedication.

The two began crafting pipes individually "for themselves" before crossing paths in the early 2000s and deciding to work together. Although pipe-making remains a side job for them, their workshop, located on a picturesque estate in Hamm, Westphalia, is highly professional.
All Together
It is worth noting that they build every single pipe together. There is no division of labor along the lines of "I'll make the mouthpiece, and you make the bowl." Every pipe reflects the sweat and dedication of both Toto and Kelvin.
What sets CO apart from numerous hobbyist pipe makers is their uncompromising commitment to quality. Every drill is precise, every line carefully considered, every transition sharp, with no room for light gaps.
A Nordic Touch: The Distinctive Style of CO Pipes
When you look at their pipes, the inspiration is clear. The "old masters" from Denmark strongly influence many of their shapes, although their signature shapes, Swan and Bullet, are quite unique. One expert recently referred to their work as "the most Danish pipes outside of Denmark."

Whether with or without a filter is not decisive, as they build both. However, delicate Bamboo or intricate Billiards with a strongly oval shank can, of course, only be made without a filter. Together with Hans Wiedemann from HU Tobacco, they have even created their own tobacco blends! Either way, a CO pipe is a wonderful unique piece that radiates the principle that art comes from skill.
