Colibri – Cigar Accessories and Pipe Accessories

Colibri Cigar Accessories: A Silver Screen Star

It’s a classic that many are surely familiar with: The Man with the Golden Gun is one of the most popular James Bond films of all time. Iconic villain Christopher Lee plays the contract killer Scaramanga, who has his sights set on a strategically important solar energy generator. As always with 007, the story also involves beautiful women and thrilling action—this time with plenty of martial arts elements. In the end, Roger Moore chases his adversary to a dramatic showdown against the stunning backdrop of a Thai island.

The gun Scaramanga uses to kill originates from Colibri. Not that the manufacturer of fine cigar accessories is actually a weapons producer. Rather, the devious assassin assembles the gun before the eyes of his unsuspecting victims from disguised everyday objects. These include a cigarette case, a cufflink, a golden Colibri pen—and the Colibri Molectric lighter.

When it debuted in 1967, the golden accessory was a sensation: the Piezo lighter, the world’s first electric lighter without a battery. Not only was it groundbreaking in terms of technology, but with its pyramid-shaped ridges on the surface, it was also a design pioneer.

The Beginnings: Colibri Lighters

The roots of this premium manufacturer go all the way back to 1928. That year, Colibri introduced the first-ever semi-automatic lighter to the market with the Colibri Original. During World War II, Colibri’s workshops in London were destroyed by German air raids. The company shifted its production to military supplies, manufacturing storm lighters for soldiers on the front lines.

Typically British

Ingenuity and an outstanding ability to adapt to a growing market have always been key traits of the brand. As large cigar formats grew increasingly popular around the turn of the millennium, Colibri introduced the first pyramid-shaped Double and Triple Jetflames onto the market.

Colibri also stays true to long-standing traditions with the Colibri V-Cut. The good old V-Cut has been gaining renewed popularity among aficionados thanks to Colibri. Its advantage: the cigar’s opening is larger compared to a straight cut, allowing for better airflow. If that’s not convincing enough, one can opt for the classic double-blade cutter or a punch cutter. Here, too, the product range offers elegant choices.

Smoking Accessories by Colibri: Cutters, Ashtrays, and More

Whether it’s a cigar ashtray or a cigar cutter, a lighter, or a cutter—one thing they all have in common is the unique Colibri philosophy. It states that a great product doesn’t reveal how much effort went into it. And that style is something timeless, effortlessly enduring trends and fashions.
