Dona Flor Cigars: Experienced Experts, Perfect Conditions

The brand is backed by two industry veterans: Arturo Turaño and Felix Menendez, master blenders and master rollers, who are the driving forces behind Dona Flor. These cigars come from the region surrounding All Saints Bay in the state of Bahia. This area marks the southernmost part of Brazil's northeastern region, where most of the country’s tobacco is grown. Plenty of rainfall, perfect soil, and an ideal average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius create optimal conditions.

Dona Flor makes the most of these conditions. The Mata Fina Series, named after its wrapper—Mata Fina, by the way, is considered one of the finest and most expensive tobaccos—is complemented by excellent Mata Norte filler. This combination results in a Brazilian cigar that captivates with earthy notes and hints of forest floor, hay, and moss.

Originally, Dona Flor offered other series, now unfortunately out of stock. A wonderfully flavorful option was the variety with a Connecticut wrapper, which delivered a bold, woody profile with notes of nuts and leather.
