Dona Flor Cigars
The Dona Flor Cigars from Mata Fina are crafted totalmente a mano—100% by hand—in the Reconcavo Baiano region of Bahia. A carefully selected blend of Mata Fina and Mata Norte tobacco leaves gives the Dona Flor longfillers their distinctive flavor. Mata Fina, one of the most expensive tobaccos in the world, lends its name to this Brazilian brand. The wrapper is also made from a dark Mata Fina leaf, which gives the cigars in this line a fine, medium-bodied aroma of hay, forest floor, moss, and wood.
Dona Flor Cigars: Exclusive Flavor from Mata Fina
Master blender Arturo Toraño and master roller Felix Menendez, both renowned figures in the tobacco world, are behind the extensive portfolio of the Dona Flor Mata Fina cigar series. The MF indicated on each cigar stands for the Mata Fina wrapper, distinguishing it from other Brazilian Dona Flor cigars that feature a Connecticut wrapper.
Arturo Toraño and Felix Menendez: Masters of the Dona Flor Series
Cigar importer Sebastian Gollasch, formerly based in Passau and now in Berlin, is responsible for the import and nationwide distribution of this cigar brand in Germany. Here you'll also find the link to the series featuring the lighter Connecticut seed wrapper: Dona Flor Connecticut. In general, cigars from Brazil are well worth a try—they may be far less well-known than those from other producing countries in the Caribbean, such as Nicaragua, but they offer a character all their own that’s hard to find elsewhere.
