VF 42L Stick 2

Length: 18.73Diameter: 1.67 Fabrication Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

Smoked it for almost 2 hours, but after one and a half I was feeling done with it already. And no it is not a bad smoke. Neither too good to justify the length in my opinion. Looks solid, rolling seems decent and consistency is comsi comsa - as the burning was a bit problematic after the first third, having to re-light it every 5-10 minutes. Now for what truly matters. The smoke. A big plus is the creaminess. Flavours evolve around the fresh leather, dry soils, toast, coffee and chocolate. Nutty here and there and spicy towards the end - but not too much. There's some hints of European forest wood here and there and some hay, but those are hidden by the strong leather-soil mix. A folk cigar if you ask me. Works with anything. I had it with beer and wine, but could have had it with a coffee or a soda and would enjoy it just as much. Reminded me of the late 80s communist public swimming-pool ice-cream - nowhere near the first Michellin star but was doing the job perfectly in torrid summer days. Because of the size - wouldn t recommend it to a beginner, although it's about medium strength. For everyday smokers though - I think it is a very good smoke for the money. Peace and love, y'all!

Henry Clay War Hawk Corona Kiste offen

Length: 12.70Diameter: 1.75 Fabrication Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

If I'm not wrong it's my first Henry Clay and what a nice surprise it was. Lasted for about one hour which is decent for a corona. To be honest for me the aspect of it says nothing in particular - just an average looking cigar. Very well processed though and with great consistency. Easy to light up and smoke and that's exactly when I was blown away - the very first toke. Medium-light in strength. Creamy. A wonderful cocktail of aromas in the area of summer flowers and fruits, young wood, fresh grass, barely ripe hazelnuts, and soft flavours of chocolate, leather and light, post-rain soils. All in all it felt like getting out of your house right after one of the first summer rains that the earth missed and the smell of wet dust and soil tickles your brain in a healthier way than an erotic massage. Would definitely recommend this to beginners and all of you who like lighter smokes. I had it with a cold beer, but I can only imagine this would go excellent with a hard, black coffee. An absolute recommendation for at least a try and oh almost forgot. Price is top for what you get. Great job, Henry Clay. Peace and love!

Short Robusto Stick 2

Length: 10.80Diameter: 1.98 Fabrication Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

There's a thing with Auroras, as they have so many choices. And most of them really good. Some I would even put in the "classics". My first Dominicana and hei - gorgeous cigar. Bit pricy if you ask me considering the size, but a well built cigar. You can see and feel the quality before even lighting it up. Looks good- with an oily wrapper, which also looks solid and healthy. Consistency is right where it needs to be and the draws are a breeze from the first to the last toke. I see this as a medium plus in strength, but the creaminess calms the woody-spicy-leather aromas that are the base of this stick. The good part is that yes quality is there - so subtle coffee, dark chocolate, exotic herbs and fresh nuts can be also felt along the way. Almost forgot to mention the soils. Rough. Old forest. The kind of wood that grows out of wet dark muds. Gives it character somehow. All in all it feels like that chair you have from your grandfather. A bit rugged, but solid built and top in quality. Will I smoke this again? I'll be doing some more digging into the series for sure. And so should you - unless you care for every penny you spend. We all know it's not easy out there these days - so for the buck you can definitely get much better options. Otherwise - full recommendation at least for a try. Peace and love!

Mata Hari Courtisane

Length: 12.38Diameter: 1.98 Fabrication Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

Been a while since I've put a cigar on my lips, but great weather is back and so am I. Mata Hari, Mata Hari - what did you do to me. A rich bouquet of fruity-flower aromas invaded my senses from the very first draw and wow I was impressed. Lasted about an hour. Construction is solid and with no flaws. Easy to light up and smoke which is important here, because the creamy, fruity smoke deserves it. Young wood also was present along the way and some hints of toast. The fresh wet soils notes kicked in more in the second part but didn't make it harsher on the senses. Yet- cannot say it is a classic. It reminded me somehow of some of the Oscar Valladares experiments which I respect a lot for their originality. All in all it felt just like the day I smoked it - an early summer which excites the senses and makes you crave for life. Top way to get out of the mental hibernation mood that accompanied me the whole winter. Would I buy it again? First I ll try the 2024 Limited Edition which I also have and then will see. Should you? If you like soft summerish flavours in your smoke absolutely yes. Price is also decent for what you get. Peace and love.

What does the word value mean today anyway? Back in my dad and grandpa's days, products were built with one thing in mind: serving the purpose they were built for. And they did that pretty damn well. Yes, there wasn't such a variety as today, but... a thing well done was an everyday thing. Joya, in my opinion, never fails to deliver handy tools for our purpose: enjoying a good cigar. And yes, these Rosalones aren't anything in the cigar "haute couture" area, but listen up. This stick delivers on all fronts. And all for a decent price too. This, to me, is value. A nice tool built to properly serve its purpose - all for affordable plata. Very well rolled. Good consistency. Easy to light up and smoke. Even burn. No bullshit. Not super creamy, but a bit. Not punchy in flavors, but enough. Brown soils and European forest types of woods, late autumn hay, slightly fruity here and there, and hints of coffee and nuts make this smoke simply pleasant. All in all, it reminded me of my grandfather's shaving tools. He used them for decades and they were not luxury products, but they worked just fine. And I bet they didn't cost a fortune. Good job, Joya. As usual, you rock. So - if you want an everyday smoke for good money - go for it 100%! Peace and love!

If it would have been well processed - this could have been a gem. Let me explain. Smoked it for about 90 minutes, but it was a hustle. Poked it couple of times (it even cracked a bit at some point) in order to get a decent draw out of it. Looks good, but the leafs are way too condensed inside so not easy to smoke. Yet- Oscar delivers as usual something magical in terms of aromas. A wonderful bouquet of grassy-fruity flavours that is quite original and specific to Oscar cigars . Not sure where they get their tobacco from or what they do to it but it is unique in taste and flavours. Smoke is creamy too, a bit toasty here and there, with young wet soils flavours kicking in especially in the second part. Almost sweet, with young wood flavours mixing with the summer tropical fruity aromas in such a way that you can hardly find comparisons. All in all it felt like a wonderful trip somewhere like Thailand, but because of the hustle to draw from it - let's say it's a holiday where you stay in cheap places which are the bum part of the trip. Will I smoke it again? I think I will to see if maybe my cigar was not the best of the bunch, and I recommend it fully for the flavour and taste. Price wise it is also pretty decent, so no comments there. Peace and love!

What an elegant mix! Smoked this beauty for about 90 minutes and enjoyed it fully. Elegant label, great looking stick, with a pleasant smell and fruity-aromatic cold draw. Consistency is tip top and rolling technique is top-standard. Burns even, decent ash resistance and creamy from start to finish. A peppery feel accompanies each toke from the first few draws and intensifies towards the end. Even so - the stick is not harsh at all. Young woods mix well with exotic dried fruits flavours, fresh forest post-rain soils, young leather and hints of coffee and nuts here and there. A good quality smoke that feels like early summer at the tropics. The type of smoke that goes well with any drink and even water since it's providing enough flavour. One of the classics. Price wise it is fair for the top quality it provides. I've smoked sticks double the price that were nowhere near as tasty. So yes a full recommendation and yes I will smoke it again. Peace and love!

Batch Toro Stick

Length: 15.24Diameter: 2.14 Fabrication Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

Not bad at all, Platinum. Not bad at all. smoked the smoke for almost two hours and for this price hei - this is good. Looks good and production wise seems to be great with good consistency. Small flaw on my cigar (hope not with all) that it started to crack and open up towards the end although it was stored in optimal conditions. Draw is ok and ash resistance allows you to build some ash if you want to. Smoke amount is also decent and there's enough creaminess to make it tickle your senses and not overload them. Taste wise it's quite a blend - and somehow it reminded me of some Joya de Nicaraguas - but in a good sense. Wood is predominant - with some rough and also young types, peppery here and there, and the hay and summer fruits gives it all a tropical vibe. Hints of nuts can be felt more in the second part, some coffee also and toasty leather towards the end. There's some soil aromas, but more in the background, allowing the plants aromas to do their thing better. All in all it feels like one of those nice spring afternoons when you walk in the park with your sweetheart and you're thinking to postpone nuking the world because hell... you feel good and you don't need to pay a fortune for that feeling. Same with this smoke. For the price and size - it definitely deserves a try. Not outstanding but decent. Peace and love!

A bit of everything at a price that's hard to beat! Smoked my smoke for about 90 minutes and I enjoyed it. Construction wise it looks great, but consistency is a bit weird since the burning was pretty difficult at times - but for a 7 Eur stick it is fantastic. Smoke is plenty when it's not clogged, and pretty creamy too. Very nice taste - where wood, pepper and grassy notes dominate the whole experience. Fruity vibes here and there, some nutty aromas too, coffee kicks in more in the second part and some soils can be also felt. More like muddy soils but in a nice way. Can't say it is a strongly flavoured smoke, so a bit of punchiness would have made this a pure gem, but still it is more than decent. All in all it feels like one of these cold winter days when you are in your warm house and enjoy the simple coziness of your place. So nothing outstanding, but for the price - an absolute must try. Hard to beat in the price segment so yes I recommend it for at least a taste. I will also try some more for these guys. Peace and love!

Year of the Dragon 2024 Schachtel 2

Length: 13.97Diameter: 1.98 Fabrication Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

For this money - no way, homie. Enjoyed it last evening in the CigarWorld lounge. And I said enjoyed because it is a decent smoke. Just not worth the price. Production and rolling are excellent. And so is consistency. Looks rough. Feels rough. Smells rough. Tastes rough. And here is where the issues begin. Smoke wise there's plenty of it. A strong one. From the first draw. Aromas are harsh and punchy on the pepper-soil side of things. Black muddy soils. Toasted spiciness and some hard old dry wood essence. I've smoked other rough smokes and I usually like my cigars stronger, but this one lacks elegance. It is too simple for this price range. If this would have been a max 10 Eur stick - I would have said ok that's decent. But for the price of a Padron or Davidoff - b!%&h please! All in all it feels like a winter cabin that is built well, is cosy enough, has the great views, but has a broken fireplace. Now look I am not sorry I have tried it - because it is not bad, but I cannot recommend it for the money, unless plata is nothing to you and you are just curious. Peace and love my imaginary friends.

Davidoff Escurio Gran Perfecto

Length: 12.70Diameter: 2.42 Fabrication Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

Tried it last evening in the Cigarworld lounge. A forest wonderland all wrapped up in a cigar. Lasted for about 65-70 minutes. Will not talk much about the way it is rolled or consistency because these are stop on. For this price and from Davidoff wouldn't have expected anything less. Easy to light up, even burn and a wonderful amount of smoke which is surprisingly creamy. Saying surprisingly creamy because this stick is the first I've ever smoked where wood and coffee are very clearly predominant - so we have two punchy aromas that somehow manage to keep things mellow and light, so it just tickles your senses and not overstimulate them. Fantastic mixture if you ask me. So many types of strong essence woods. All wrapped in roasted coffee. Hints of nuts, grass and soils, but just enough to barely detect them. Another very important aspect is the quality. Rough flavours in a rough fat stick - but such good quality of tobacco makes this one a must try. All in all it felt like when I first moved in a brand new flat in a brand new building. Would "smell", "see" and "touch" the quality everywhere. Yes - price is high for not such a big cigar... so for me this might stay a "special occasion" smoke. Then again real quality demands financial efforts. So yes - if you can afford it and never tried it - go for it for sure. Peace and love!

Confidenciaal Fiftytwo 10er Bundle

Length: 14.92Diameter: 2.26

Ok the pigtail is a funny end-note, but that's the only interesting thing about this cigar. A big bat, but over in max 80 minutes. That's because it is way too airy for my taste. Construction is decent though so burn is relatively uniform, but the draws are a pain in the butt. You really have to suck this sucka to feel a proper amount of smoke in your mouth. Taste wise - can't complain much but neither can you praise it either. Wood and light soils are predominant, with some nuts here and there, grassy notes in the first half and slight hints of coffee. Toasty and peppery too - especially towards the end. Would have been much better with extra cream and a more consistent construction but... it is what it is. This should be a max 7 Eur smoke and not 13. All in all it feels like a relationship that once was great but now all there's left is trying to squeeze something good but there ain't much left. Will I smoke it again? At this price absolutely not. Should you? Not really. Even if you like to experiment and this is nothing special - not for this price. If you want something airy but much better quality and half the price you can go for Flor de Copan. Peace and love!

Dalay Istanbul Robusto

Length: 12.70Diameter: 1.98 Fabrication Totalmente a mano - (longfiller)TAM

My second Dalay Istanbul. First one was Principe. This one lasts for almost 2 hours which is pretty good for a robusto. Just like the Principe format - overpriced for what it offers. And don't get me wrong it is a good smoke, just not good enough for 14 Eur. And you see that from the get go with the cheap printed label. Rolling is good but nothing outstanding or in the "perfect" area. Consistency is just right though. Easy to smoke and decent ash resistance. Now for the taste. Pretty varied, where spiciness and cream are kings. Plenty of cream is always a good thing. There's woody notes allover the place, roasted nuts and toast, coffee, leather and some dark brown soils. Not a bad mix at all just doesn't feel anything special either. All in all it feels like the A class from Mercedes - you pay the Mercedes price but you get nowhere near what you should quality. So will I smoke it again? I kind of doubt it. Should you? If you like experiments yes because it's really not bad. Otherwise - for this money you get Next Level cigars that you cannot even compare in terms of quality (almost any Joya, or My Father, or the top Drew Estate and so on and so on). Peace and love.

A very enjoyable stick. Smoked it for about 100-110 minutes. Simple label, simple looks - simple taste - but all done so well. Very easy to light up, nice relaxed draws, plenty of creamy smoke and an even burn even when it was smoked outside. The ash won't build up too much before falling, but for me this was never an issue. From the first draw I've felt before anything else - good quality tobacco. It is a light stick, with airy construction - which makes sense. Grass is the main aroma, with fruity flavours to back it up and hints of wood, light wet soils, a bit toasty and a background sweetness that lasts for the whole smoking experience. The flavours don't evolve nor disappear throughout the smoke, which for me is a non issue. When a stick starts well - I don't mind that goodness to last. And here that is the case. All in all it feels like a nice brain massage because there's nothing extraordinary about this cigar, yet the simplicity of it delivers pure, non complicated quality. Well priced in my opinion and I would recommend it with open heart to any beginner. This was my first Griffin's - but I will definitely try all their other smokes. And I can recommend it to anyone - especially to those who like lighter smokes. Good job with this one. Peace and love!

Guantanamera Corona Tubos Gold Edition

Length: 14.92Diameter: 1.63 Fabrication Machine made (shortfiller)MM

Well, I've tried the Decimos which are cheaper and they were better. I have no idea what the fuss is with the "golden" edition but no bueno. I know it is a cheap cigar and machine made but the production is sloppy. Burn is uneven, there were bumps in the stick here and there, amount of smoke although good - left a weird aftertaste of burned rotten flowers. smoked it for about 60 minutes. there's wood, grass and a toasty feel to it as base aromas. Leather, coffee and fruity vibes kick here and there but unfortunately not in a good way. Almost each toke left that weird after taste which I didnt like at all. Yes you can feel the Cubano tobacco but ...nope. All in all it feels like my first boss from 20 years ago - wrapped in nice clothes but dumb and dull as a rock. Also left a bad aftertaste. Anyhow. Guantanameras seem to be a good bang for the buck - but not these Golden Edition wannabe something fancy. Decimos were much better and guess what. Cheaper. Peace and love.
