Big Ben Estates

The Big Ben Estates are aimed at pipe enthusiasts who appreciate individual pieces with a history. As estate pipes, these previously owned pipes are offered for sale again, providing an interesting alternative to the regular pipe series. With Big Ben in particular, this character meets classic shapes and a brand known for careful craftsmanship. Depending on the individual piece available, shape, finish and design vary – and that is precisely what makes this selection so appealing.

Big Ben Estate Pipes Made in the Netherlands

Behind Big Ben is Elbert Gubbels & Zonen from Roermond. The family started a tobacco shop in 1870 before establishing its own pipe production after the Second World War. Big Ben pipes have been made in Roermond since 1946. They are characterised by precise drilling, clean transitions between shank and mouthpiece, and a high proportion of hand craftsmanship. Many models feature easy-care acrylic mouthpieces, while versions with ebonite are also available.

Pre-Owned Big Ben Pipes with Individual Character

With estate pipes, the focus is not on a fixed series but on each individual piece. The selection may therefore include compact models as well as classic straight or bent pipes and a variety of finishes. Well-known Big Ben designs such as the compact Barbados reflect the manufacturer's more traditional design language, while the small Pipo, with its streamlined shape, adds a distinctive touch. Which variants are actually available as estates depends on the current stock. For enthusiasts specifically looking for a pre-owned pipe, a vintage pipe or a special Big Ben model, it is therefore worth keeping an eye on the changing selection of individual pieces.
