Georg Jensen Estates

The Georg Jensen pipe workshop was founded in Copenhagen in 1954 as a family business and remained so throughout its existence. It produced classic Danish shapes as well as freehand pipes. The range included series pipes and freehands. Smooth and sandblasted finishes were standard, complemented by special models. Higher-grade lines were sometimes labelled “Straight Grain” with a consecutive quality number.

Series pipes carried model names or numbers, often together with “Handmade in Denmark” and the GJ logo. Many models followed the Copenhagen school of the period and were continued in several ongoing series over the years in the same style. Alongside standard shapes, there were also limited editions, which are sought after today and are regarded by specialists as typically Danish.

The pipe workshop closed in 2001. This brought an almost fifty-year tradition of manufacture to an end; since then, Georg Jensen pipes have been available only as estate pieces. After production ended, Per Georg Jensen moved to Mac Baren. From 2001 onwards, he took on a key technical role there as a tobacco and product specialist, represented the company publicly, and was involved in the development and communication of pipe tobaccos.

The remaining copying lathes and machines went to Peder Jeppesen, who still uses them for his Neerup pipes today.

Here you will find, to the best of our knowledge and belief, refurbished estate pipes by Georg Jensen. The mouthpieces are polished, the wood has been cared for, and dirt has been removed. If you would like the pipe to be disinfected to a microscopically pure standard, please carry this out yourself.
