Ashton Pipes Pipes

You recognize at first sight that Ashton pipes are made in England. And you will also quickly recognize where William Ashton-Taylor has learned his craft in the age of 15 years. Exactly, at Dunhill! It was 1983 as the first Ashton-pipe was made. Done with methods that had been cultivated for centuries in the english pipe industry. The briarwood is still "Oil Cured" that means that the wood is heated with high value oils to enable an outstanding good taste from the break in of an Anshton pipe.

Bill has sadly passed away 2009, but his former co-worker Jimmy Craig continues the legacy with enthusiasm. So you wouldn't expect "Design Experiments" from Ashton. The classical-english style is still strong within Ashton pipes, and everything is handmade. Now and than you can find coloured cumberland-mouthpieces, but most of them are black ebonite.

Nowadays there's also a couple of 9mm filterpipes from Ashton, that German pipesmokers favour very much.

Look forward to your wonderfully traditional Ashton handmade!
