Poul Winslow Crown

What you already know from Poul Winslow Freehands also applies to his sub-brand, Crown.

Crowns are also Freehands, just like the "normal" Winslow-pipes. Mainly because Poul has no other possibilites to make pipes, only by hand.

The difference is only in the deepness of working on details and with the lack of decorations. Fact is, you will not find any decorations at all on crown pipes.

But there is no difference at all when it comes to wood quality and fanatstic smoking qualities. Poul likes you to know that you can smoke every crown pipe just as well as Winslow pipes. The wood is from the same stock, is just as dry and mature, and the pipes have the same break - in paste that deliver a neutral taste. Now and then, some Crowns have spots.

They are not varnished, just wax-polished.

Poul Winslow grade Crown Pipes in the follwing categories:

Crown Viking: Rusticated or brushed pipes, sometimes smooth, but dark stained.

Crown 200: Smooth pipes, vivid grain, mid-brown, some lighter colour.

Crown 300: Smooth pipes, very good grain, bright or contrast colours.

Crown Collector: Fantastic grain, very bright colours. Those pipes where ment to be a high grade Winslow. Rare!

Crowns are unique pieces and only available once. Sometimes we have a good selection, sometimes not. Just as Poul is able to deliver. Please keep that in mind.
