Sillems Old Boy

A truly exceptional treasure among lighters: the IM Corona Old Boy refined by Sillem's in a classically aristocratic design. Sillem's has encased the lighter from the iconic brand IM Corona in a coat of radiant enamel – optionally available in various colors. The head and base are also silver-plated. A small pipe tamper is integrated into the base of the lighter and can be locked in place with a twist.

For the Linea Epoque Antique, the Old Boy is fitted, in painstaking and absolutely precise craftsmanship, with a casing of 925 sterling silver featuring multiple kiln-fired enamel layers. The Epoque Antique lighters feature a 45-degree angled flame, a recessed tamper, and a large gas tank.

Sillem has represented the trade in valuable goods in the Hanseatic tradition since the 16th century. The Hamburg-based house was already known for its international trade relations during the time of the Hanseatic League; the Jungfernstieg once bore the name “Sillem’s Bazar.” To this day, the Hanseatic style shapes the brand: timeless design, understated formal language, and the highest level of perfection in craftsmanship. The guiding principle is: the very best in every respect.

For 25 years, design, development, and distribution have been based in Kassel. Under the direction of Torsten P. Seiffert, the product range has been carefully expanded, always in keeping with the company’s commitment to quality. Only selected batches of solid 925 sterling silver or high-quality silverplate are used, combined with refined materials such as hand-cut lead crystal, the finest calfskin, or carefully selected woods. Manufacturing is carried out using traditional craftsmanship; each piece is considered an original and one of a kind. The hallmark is the silver anchor cross with a blue sapphire, symbolizing Hanseatic tradition and value.

In mythology, silver represents protection, sensitivity, and a sense of tradition; the sapphire symbolizes loyalty, wisdom, and mental clarity. Sillem products are distributed worldwide exclusively through specialist tobacco retailers, interior outfitters, and jewelers. Unused silver will tarnish and should be stored in a protected environment. It should be cleaned with a special silver polishing cloth; in cases of heavier oxidation, with a silver bath or silver polish. An anti-tarnish coating is deliberately not applied to fine silver in order to preserve its luster and surface quality; the exception is coated silver fittings on leather accessories.
