Marca Fina: Cigars from All Countries
The term Marca Fina translates from Spanish to "Fine Brand" and already sounds very promising. So, what exactly lies behind this melodious name? These are handmade cigars, 100% Puros (meaning filler, binder, and wrapper all come from the same country) from nearly all non-Cuban origins associated with cigar production.
Focus on Quality Rather Than Marketing
This cigar brand is convinced that the tobaccos of each country have their own flavor profile, which is brought out through careful selection of the growing regions and selection of the best tobaccos from the respective countries and growing areas. This is reflected in the unique and distinctive taste of the handmade cigars. All of this suggests that the product in question is not exactly in the lower price range. But contrary to this assumption, the "Fine Brand" surprises by being found in the very affordable range of the price scale.
Good Quality and Best Prices
The brand’s unique philosophy also extends to the packaging. Box packaging is omitted; instead, all formats come as cellophane-wrapped bundles with a jute strip, which is an unusual and sometimes ridiculed type of packaging upon market entry. It helps save costs and has now gained a certain level of recognition. Likewise, you won’t find a cigar band on Marca Finas, but this does not detract from the enjoyment. Regardless of the growing region, all Marca Fina cigars can be consistently praised for their high quality at an exceptionally low price. And another interesting fact: every time you purchase a cigar from this manufacturer, you have acted "fairly"!
Fair Trade Cigars
This starts with fair payment to the tobacco farmers, considers environmental protection aspects (for example, "Natural Shade Grown" tobaccos are processed, meaning tobacco that grows in the natural shade of tropical trees rather than in vast monocultures) and culminates in the unification of the tobacco farmers in the F.T.A.C. (Federacion de Tabaqueros America Central), the Central American Federation of Independent Tobacco Farmers.
By joining together in the F.T.A.C., tobacco farmers achieve better prices for their products on the global market. Additionally, uniform guidelines within the F.T.A.C. ensure that the tobaccos and the cigars produced independently are always made at a consistently high level.
One might say, why is this so important? After all, it's about enjoyment! But isn’t it a good feeling to know that with your purchase, you are supporting a project that helps give people on the other side of the world a chance at a better life? And this good feeling fits so well with enjoyment, complementing it pleasantly and thereby enhancing it even more.
The Marca Fina Range
It all started with the product line from Panama. It was the first with which "Marca Fina" entered the German market. The portfolio has since expanded to include product lines from the Dominican Republic and Honduras, Nicaragua and Ecuador, as well as Brazil.
The tobacco is given at least two years to mature and ferment. After this period, the matured tobaccos are further processed by hand on-site into the various vitolas, and the results can be universally described as very good!
As the name of the Panama Maduro already suggests, the wrappers of these cigars have been fermented particularly long. This is evident from their noticeably darker exterior and the full-bodied, spicy taste. A tag on the bundle also points this out.
