Doctor Pipe Flake

The Doctor Pipe Flakes offer a selection of classic and aromatic pipe tobaccos with different flavour profiles. The tobacco leaves are pressed and then cut into thin slices. These so-called flakes can be rubbed out before packing or folded and placed directly into the pipe.

Doctor Pipe Flakes – Traditional Tobacco Processing

Doctor Pipe focuses on combining different raw tobaccos. The series draws on established blending styles and highlights the characteristic properties of the tobacco varieties used. Virginia contributes a natural sweetness, while Perique adds spicy and fruity accents. Latakia, in turn, gives a blend its distinctive smoky note. The pressing process binds the individual tobaccos together into compact slices that differ significantly from loose-cut mixtures.

Doctor Pipe Flakes: Five Pipe Tobaccos at a Glance

Five varieties are currently available on the German market. The Pure Golden Virginia consists exclusively of robust Brazilian Virginia tobacco and is characterised by its natural sweetness and pronounced earthy tobacco character. In the Virginia & Perique, the Virginia is complemented by full-bodied Louisiana Perique, which adds a spicy, robust component. The English Blend combines a relatively mild Virginia with a high proportion of Latakia. The result is an English blend with a distinctly smoky character without being excessively strong. The two aromatic varieties offer a slightly different experience: Colorado has a mild profile, while the equally mild Orchid features a fruity flavouring. The Doctor Pipe Flakes therefore cover a range of flavour profiles, from natural Virginia to aromatic blends.
