Vauen Pipe Tobacco

Vauen - this name stands for quality pipes made in Germany, and has done so for more than a century and a half. The roots of Germany's oldest pipe manufacturer go back to 1848, when the first pipe manufacturer in the country opened in Nuremberg. The Vauen company emerged from this in 1909 - "Vau" phonetically stands for the letter "V" as an abbreviation for "Vereinigte Pfeifenfabriken", "EN", i.e. the letter "N", refers to the city of Nuremberg.

A special feature of Vauen pipes is the white dot on their mouthpiece. It marks particularly exquisite examples and quickly became an exclusive proof of quality among pipe connoisseurs, guaranteeing the best material, aesthetically pleasing wood grains and first-class craftsmanship.

In addition to pipes, the company produces a range of high-quality accessories - such as pipe tampers, pipe bags or the popular Dr. Perl pipe filter. In the 1930s, the company achieved a world first with this filter, which was the first activated carbon pipe filter ever. To this day, it is the most widely sold pipe filter on the globe, and numerous pipe manufacturers have adapted their bore dimensions to its shape.

But it is not only in the "hardware" that Vauen has an excellent reputation; the company also offers a wide range of products of pipetobacco. Vauen pipe tobacco is characterised above all by its particularly soft to pleasantly mild flavour, whereby the tobacco mixtures of the different blends have the right pipe tobacco for every taste.
